One Step Trichomonas Vaginalis Rapid Test Kit

    SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION

    Trichomoniasis is most commonly transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse. Almost 100% of infections occur through penis-to-vagina intercourse or vulva-to-vulva intercourse with an infected partner. Trichomoniasis occurs in both men and women and is caused by an infection with the single-celled parasite Trichomonas vaginalis. Infection with Trichomonas vaginalis is frequently associated with other sexually transmitted diseases and helps spread the AIDS virus.

    PRINCIPLE OF THE TEST

    This test strip in the device includes: 1) a burgundy-colored conjugate pad containing colloidal gold coupled with Trichonomas V.  polyclonal antibodies, and 2) nitrocellulose membrane containing a test line ( T - line) and a control line (C- line).  The T line is coated with Trichomonas V. antibody, and the C- line is coated with goat anti-Trichmonas.V  antibody.  When patient antigen to Trichomonas V. are present in the specimen, the T line will become a burgundy-colored band . If antigen to Trichomonas V. are not present or are present below the detectable level, no T line will develop. The C line should always appear as a burgundy-colored band regardless of the presence of antigen to Trichomonas V. The C line serves as an internal qualitative control of the test system to indicate that an adequate volume of specimen has been applied and the flow occurred.
